YEREVAN. - President of Hungary Pal Schmitt will visit Armenia this year, Speaker of Hungarian Parliament Laszlo Kover stated at the meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan on Wednesday.

Serzh Sargsyan gave importance to business ties between two states. According to him, Armenia-Hungary trade and economic relations have not reached a proper level, the presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The sides attached significance to the expansion of cooperation in the EU-launched “Eastern partnership” project. The Hungarian Speaker expressed readiness to assist Armenia’s efforts to European integration, sharing Hungary’s experience.

The officials also touched upon regional issues and gave significance to the efforts to ensure stability, peace and security in the region. Kover stressed that Hungary attaches importance to the people’s right to self-determination. According to him, it will be possible to resolve conflicts if a goodwill is displayed towards this principle.
