YEREVAN. - According to current regulations, foreign residents of Armenian descent arriving to Armenia without invitation letters are supposed to receive entrance visas at border customs offices of Armenia. 

Armenian Police has submitted a bill on amendments to Foreign Residents law for government consideration. The bill will significantly simplify the country entry procedures for foreign citizens of Armenian descent. Moreover, they will be granted an opportunity to get a permanent residence status for a period of 5 years.

The government will discuss the issue on Thursday.
