YEREVAN. – There is rather an abyss than deep distrust between Armenia and Azerbaijan, said Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosyan.

There is no such gap even between Armenia and Turkey despite closed border and lack of diplomatic relations, he said addressing participants of an international conference in Yerevan.

The deputy minister stressed that creating conditions for the development of mutual trust is of paramount importance for Yerevan, given that the Armenian and Azeri people will live in this region, and existence of dividing lines is unacceptable.

In this regard, Kirakosyan noted that the interim status of Nagorno-Karabakh supposes involvement of the world community in creating conditions and integration of two peoples in the regional projects ahead of conducting a referendum on final status.

“Atmosphere of hatred is stirred up by Azerbaijani leadership,” he said recalling Armenia had repeatedly expressed readiness to cooperate as collaboration in economic, commercial projects can only facilitate a political solution.
