YEREVAN. - The influx of people to Armenia from Arab countries is under control, Chief of Armenia’s Police Alik Sargsyan told reporters on Friday.

He pointed out to the fact that Armenia holds visa regime with all those countries facing unprecedented countrywide protests.

Armenian government approved a draft decision on making amendments to “Law on foreigners” on Friday. According to it, procedure of entering Armenia will be simplified for people of Armenian nationality. By this law, the government has established a list of 17 countries, whose citizens have no right to enter Armenia without special visas. However, in this regard, Armenians living in these countries have faced problems.

Amendments to the law will allow Armenians to enjoy the benefits and get visas at the airport. Restrictions will remain in effect for other citizens of these states. According to Sargsyan, other amendments will also be introduced. In particular, citizens of CIS states will be able to stay in Armenia 180 days without a visa instead of 90 days.
