Former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi, infected with COVID-19, was discharged from the San Raffaele hospital, where he was admitted on September 3.

After leaving the hospital, the 83-year-old politician made a short speech to the supporters and TV reporters waiting for him and thanked them for coming.

In a five-minute speech, Berlusconi also thanked Italian politicians who expressed support for him after the infection, noting that it allowed him to overcome the most difficult moments, which were very many in the first three days.

Earlier on Monday, local sources said that Berlusconi will spend the rest of his recovery time at his villa near Milan.
