YEREVAN.- Increase in number of Armenian peacekeepers in Afghanistan may provoke terrorist attack in Armenia, said Vahan Dilanyan, head of Political Developments Research Center.

He noted that majority of blasts hit Kunduz province of Afghanistan where the Armenian troops are deployed.

“Service of the Armenian peacekeepers can be considered as active involvement in hostilities,” he told journalists.

Parliament of Armenia approved on May 11 the document amending the international agreement on deployment of the Armenian peacekeeping contingent in Afghanistan within NATO mission.

The document envisages prolongation of deployment of the Armenian peacekeeping mission and increase in number of troops.
