Typhoon Melor is moving to Sakhalin, Kuril and Khabarovsk regions after causing casualties in Tokyo, killing two people and wounding 56 others.
Local residents were warned of torrential rains and strong winds coming to the region, Vesti reports.
Thousands of people were evacuated from homes. Heavy typhoon flooded roads, railway service and dozens of flights were cancelled in Tokyo.
According to meteorologists, Melor will hit Tartary strait and coastal areas on October 9, 2009.
