At least 15 workers who slept on the side of the road were killed by a truck in India's Gujarat state, NDTV reported.

All the dead workers were from the state of Rajasthan. Police said 12 people died at the scene and at least eight were taken to hospital. Three more of the victims died when doctors tried to help them.

The incident allegedly occurred after the truck driver lost control of the vehicle.
