Our common task today is to try to find solutions that will allow us to have a secure and stable country in the future, one of the safest countries in the region. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan—a member of the majority My Step faction in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, and Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport—said this during Monday’s parliamentary hearings on "Science as a pillar of security and development."

According to the lawmaker, it is necessary to ensure that Armenia becomes the last country in the region against which a possible aggressor would like to use force. "However, the recent [Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war has shown that we still have a lot to do [in this regard]. We must make decisions about our future," said Hayrapetyan, adding that in order to achieve a cherished goal, it is necessary to "dream" and "believe."

In his turn, Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan noted that the scientific and technological revolution and high-tech progress have come to replace the progress in oil, natural gas, and financial companies and corporations.
