After June 12 parliamentary elections in Turkey, several defendants in Ergenekon and Big Hammer cases will move from prisons to the house of legislature.

Journalist Mustafa Balbay, Republican People‘s Party, accused in Ergenekon case is elected from Igdir. Professor Mehmet Haberal, former rector accused in Ergenekon case, is on Republican People‘s Party list from Zonguldak.

Defendant in Big Hammer trial, retired general Engin Alan became an MP from Nationalist Movement Party. His candidacy was presented from Istanbul.
