UN Human Rights Council accepted a resolution to ban discrimination on sexual orientation on Friday.

The resolution was presented by a South African representative. Out of 47 council members, 23 members voted for the resolution, 19 voted against and 3 were abstain. U.S., EU and Brasilia were among states supporting the document, while Muslim states were against its acceptance.

The resolution intends to form a special body, which will preserve rights of sexual minorities all over the world. The document is accepted for the first time in the history, reports Lenta.ru quoting Agence France-Presse.
