“The Armenian football team is not financed from the state budget and is in a poor situation. This is the reason for its poor results. President Serzh Sargsyan had better deal with the problems of Armenian football instead of his ‘football diplomacy’,” the MP of Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) Artsvik Minasyan told NEWS.am.

In this context he made the most pessimistic forecast about Armenia-Turkey football match. As for the Armenian leader’s forthcoming visit to Turkey, he pointed out that it is an unjustified step all the more so that the Armenian-Turkish border has not yet been opened, and the sides are not even close to it. “Sargsyan promised to go to Turkey only after the Armenian-Turkish border opens or on the threshold of doing so, did he not?” Minasyan asked.

Turkey-Armenia football match is to be held in Bursa tomorrow. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is likely to attend.
