Torrential floods in Bolivia have killed 13 people. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Civil Defense, Juan Carlos Calvimontes, TASS reports.

"More than 400 houses have been damaged, 80 of which are not subject to repair. And we have information about 13 casualties," he said on Bolivia TV.

According to the deputy minister, seven of the nine departments of the republic have suffered from torrential rains so far.

"The situation in Santa Cruz [department] is really critical," he said.

According to him, at least 1,000 families in several settlements were affected by the flood.
