BAKU. - Israel will participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, 1news.az reports referring to the official website of Eurovision-Azerbaijan fan club.

Earlier it was reported Israel might not participate in the song contest as the date of Eurovision Final coincides with Shavuot holiday. According to Israeli legislation, the state does not have a right to take part in international events during the holiday.

Shavuot commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to the entire Israelite nation assembled at Mount Sinai.
