Azerbaijani human rights activists appealed to First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, head of Organizing Committee of Eurovision 2012 song contest, asking her to solve a number of political issues ahead of the contest.

The authors of the letter touched upon problem on political prisoner, freedom of peaceful assembly, freedom of association, freedom of expression, freedom of property, difficulties in the operation of Public TV and Radio, the issues related to receiving visas, contact.az reports.

The statement says that solution of the mentioned problems would contribute to improvement of Azerbaijan’s negative image abroad.
