On August 25, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Kristinne Grigoryan, signed a decision to set up a public council on women's rights—and under the Human Rights Defender, the latter’s office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
This council comprises representatives of NGOs and independent specialists with necessary experience in the protection of women's rights.
The council will be ex officio headed by the Human Rights Defender.
The objective of this council will be to assist—as an advisory body—in the activities of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia in the protection of women's rights, and to propose respective legislative solutions.
The inaugural meeting of this council will be held on Friday.
