YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Security Council’s (NSC) composition will change in the near future, Zhoghovurd daily writes.    

“After being elected National Assembly (NA) Speaker, [current Deputy Speaker] Samvel Nikoyan will become NSC member, ex officio. Instead, former NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan is not in NSC. Although [President] Serzh Sargsyan did not sign any order to that effect, his [Abrahamyan’s] name is already removed from NSC’s official website. [Previous Police Chief] Alik Sargsyan continues to be in NSC, and, incidentally, he is mentioned there as Police Chief. And this [is happening] in the case when Vova [Vladimir] Gasparyan is the Police Chief for already one month. But Serzh Sargsyan also did not sign an order to include Gasparyan in NSC. On the one hand, all this bespeaks that Serzh Sargsyan simply does not care about NSC, and, on the other hand, everything at the Government camp is let to take its course,” Zhoghovurd writes.
