The Ukrainian authorities do not know anything about the planned negotiations in Saudi Arabia, will not take part in them and do not intend to recognize them. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a video briefing from the UAE, commenting on reports about the meeting of Russian and US representatives in Riyadh.
“Ukraine will not take [part]. Ukraine did not know anything about it. Ukraine regards any negotiations about Ukraine without Ukraine as such, which have no result. And we cannot recognize any things or any agreements about us without us. And we will not recognize such agreements,” Interfax-Ukraine quoted Zelenskyy as saying.
The president noted that the upcoming talks have a “bilateral track” and Moscow and Washington “have the right to do so if they have bilateral issues.”
Zelenskyy is currently on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates. After the Ukrainian president will travel to Saudi Arabia. According to Zelenskyy, his trip to Riyadh “has no connection with the things that are happening in Saudi Arabia at the level of representatives of the United States and Russia.”
