The United States has proposed a simple, historic resolution at the UN, which we urge all member states to support to chart a path to peace, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, but did not comment in detail on the content of the proposed resolution, AFP notes.

Earlier today, Reuters reported that the US will propose its draft resolution at the UN, timed to coincide with the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine. According to the agency, the document consists of three paragraphs.

They express sorrow over the loss of life in the “Russian-Ukrainian conflict” and reaffirm that “the main purpose of the United Nations is to maintain international peace and security and the peaceful settlement of disputes,” BBC reports.

Before that, Reuters reported that Washington refused to become one of the sponsors of the draft resolution of the UN General Assembly on the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine. The document supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemns Russian aggression.
