The head of the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the DPRK published a statement under the headline, “We will respond to the strategic threat of enemies with strategic means.” The Korean Central Telegraphic Agency reported.

“Since the Trump administration came to power, military provocations by the US and its satellites that threaten the security environment in the DPRK have been more intensified.

The US military actions, which are demonstrative in nature, clearly show the unchanging hegemonic ambition of the current US administration.

The provocative US military actions around our nation in no more than 2 months this year is a clear response to what is the source of the real threat that is increasing concerns about global peace and security.

The typical US arrogance, brazen and brigandish logic of US double standards is in no way acceptable to us.

Our nuclear armed forces are the means to protect state sovereignty and security in the region, and their rapid and accelerated strengthening is a requirement of reality to respond to military threats from the US and its satellites.

The DPRK will respond to strategic threats from the US and other adversaries with its strategic means, continue responsible military actions aimed at controlling the unstable security situation on the Korean Peninsula with powerful deterrence forces,” the statement said.
