As war rages in Ukraine, European countries that are members of the North Atlantic Alliance have conducted large-scale maneuvers, Euronews reported.

The Steadfast Dart 25 exercise involved ten thousand troops from nine countries, including infantrymen, sailors and marines. The maneuvers involved about 1,500 units of military equipment, including tanks, rocket launchers, infantry fighting vehicles, and armored personnel carriers. There were also 17 units of naval equipment and more than 20 airplanes.

Taking place here, between Ukraine and Moldova, near the Black Sea, the exercises are maneuvers of a rapid reaction force ready to deploy if necessary. The exercises demonstrate a significant strengthening of the European defense strategy within NATO.

The United States is not directly involved in these exercises. But comments by U.S. President Donald Trump are coming to the fore, saying Ukraine is responsible for the war on its territory. Senior military officials say NATO clearly recognizes that the war in Ukraine began with an attack from Russia.

NATO officials say Steadfast Dart 25 enhances NATO's interoperability, effectiveness and resilience to the serious risks that Europe faces.
