Today, Nov. 16, the first Georgian military contingent will be sent to Afghanistan.
The 23rd infantry brigade company of Georgian Armed Forces will be sent to Afghanistan within the framework of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission to be under the French commitment command. Another battalion will be deployed to the U.S. responsibility zone in early 2010.
