At least 308 people have been killed in the Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip, the latter’s health ministry said, Al Jazeera reports.

Israel has violated the ceasefire, prompting Hamas to call for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution that would obligate Israel to stop the aggression.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for his part, said he had ordered the military to take tough action against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, accusing Hamas of refusing to release prisoners and not agreeing to Israel's ceasefire proposals. Israel will now act against Hamas with increased military power, Netanyahu added.
