Georgian authorities and opposition are ready to constructive dialogue on the strengthening of democracy in the country, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Tina Kaidanow stated after Nov. 16 meeting with Georgian Premier Nika Gilauri in Tbilisi.

According to Kaidanow, dialogue might be quite successful. As to her meeting with Georgian Prime Minister, U.S. diplomat said that one of the key topics was the arrest of four Georgian teenagers in Tskhinval back on November 4. “The immediate way out should be found and the teenagers released as soon as possible,” she underlined.

November 17, Kaidanow will participate in the sitting of democracy commission formed in the framework of 4th Georgian-U.S. Charter on strategic partnership.

U.S. State Department delegation headed by Michael H. Posner Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor arrives in Tbilisi to participate in the work of commission.
