Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that the date of his visit to the United States has not yet been set, Anadolu reported.

Speaking to the media in Istanbul, he said that the exact time when the Turkish side will make a working visit to the US has not yet been set.

“However, in the meantime, my foreign minister (Hakan Fidan) and trade minister (Omer Bolat) may have meetings or travel plans related to the US. These visits could include discussions on the recently raised tax regulation issue,” he said.

Erdogan also expressed hope that “the positive approach they are considering toward Turkey will translate into concrete actions.”

Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said on Friday that Ankara wants to hold talks with the U.S. on lifting the additional 10 percent tariffs announced by President Donald Trump.

Later, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said that the relatively low base tariff of 10% that the United States imposed on Turkey could benefit Turkish exporters.
