Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated Turkey’s geographic location enables enormous foreign policy vectors. Commenting on the critics concerning “Ankara’s change of policy vector”, FM underlined that foreign policy will always be shaped by country’s government. Speaking at the session of planning and budget commission, Davutoglu noted the vicious comments on Turkey’s change in its policy priorities.

“Turkey is not a country to develop mono-vector policy. Discussions that Turkey should focus on one side only, narrow our prospects. It is not a choice but necessity. We stretch a bow towards Asia, however we do not intend to turn down the prospects on EU full membership,” he said.

As to the Cyprus dispute, Davutoglu outlined that Ankara’s concessions on the matter are out of question. Commenting on Iran’s nuke program, FM said: “We do not wish militaristic sentiments risen in the region. The production of nuclear technology is the right of each state. Turkey always opposed nuclear weapons anywhere worldwide.”
