Only 49% Americans approve Barack Obama’s activities putting him below the majority approval level for the first time in his presidency, American Gallup Daily published on Nov. 20, 2009. At the beginning of July his approval was 60% and a bit higher – 50% this September.

According to Gallup experts, the decline is conditioned by healthcare reforms and lasting economic problems, the source informs.

Obama is the fourth fastest to drop below the majority approval level among all the American postwar Presidents. Gerald Ford dropped below 50% approval during his third month in office. Bill Clinton ranks the 2nd and Ronald Reagan — the 3rd. The latter also dropped below 50% in his 10th month, just as Obama did.

The only U.S. President who never dropped below the majority approval level was John Kennedy.
