The new Fujian aircraft carrier has been launched and delivered to the Chinese navy, Xinhua news agency reported.
The respective ceremony took place at the naval base in the city of Sanya, in the southern province of Hainan.
Chinese President Xi Jinping also attended the event.
This is China's first aircraft carrier equipped with electromagnetic catapults for launching deck-based fighter jets.
