French President Emmanuel Macron expressed hope that the conflict in Ukraine will end by 2027. He made this statement during a meeting with visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Velizy-Villacoublay Air Base near Paris, reports Le Monde.

“The latest EU decisions, including new sanctions against Russian oil companies, have become real turning points in putting pressure on Moscow,” Macron emphasized.

Also, the French leader noted the change in rhetoric of US President Donald Trump, who after his election had pledged to quickly end the conflict “within 24 hours.”

“Ideas change when they become concrete. What has happened on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean should inspire many and make them less categorical,” added the French president.
