Last night, the situation in Aleppo was bad. On Tuesday afternoon, clashes began, then it stopped for a while, the people were calmer, but after that the situation worsened even more. Nairi Garabedian, a correspondent for the Aleppo-based Kantsasar Armenian newspaper, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“People spent the night awake. The situation is the same in the morning, there is no new information.

Yes, there are casualties in Aleppo. The company where I work was shelled and there are casualties. Syrian media outlets are also reporting casualties and injuries.

The night was tense in all parts of the city. The densely-Armenian-populated district also suffered damage. But, thank God, there were no injuries among Armenians; they are safe so far.

The activities of [Syrian] government buildings, schools have been suspended. Even the [Aleppo] airport has not been operational for the second day, so that people stay in their homes for security reasons,” Garabedian added.

Earlier, we reported that at least seven people—mostly civilians—were killed in Aleppo during Tuesday’s clashes between Syrian government troops and Kurdish-led forces.
