The Chairman of the Armenian Supreme Soviet Karen Demirchyan forced to resign as he failed to suppress Karabakhi movement and shoot his people, said ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan Nov. 27 on the occasion of 35th anniversary of Demirchyan’s election to the post.
According to Ter-Petrosyan, the key factor of his activities was his stance on Karabakh issue. “No-one esteems so far why he was forced to step down. He was unseated, as did not subdue Karabakhi movement and did not assassinate his nation. M. Gorbachev could not forgive him. For me, it’s the most superlative chapter of his biography,” the Former President noted, adding that Demirchyan was a national leader “who did not sin against people unlike Kocharyan, who shot the like a safari hunter”.
