December 1, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair arrives in Baku. He will participate in the signing ceremony of agreement on allocation of U.S. $120m for the construction of methanol plant in Azerbaijan by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The project’s funding will be implemented in two portions: U.S. $90m will be granted for 9 years with the further allotting of U.S. $30m for ten years. The plant construction started in 2007, having the total cost exceeding U.S. $300m.

Since 2007 Tony Blair holds the post of official envoy of the Quartet in the Middle East on behalf of the UN, EU, U.S. and Russia.
