YEREVAN. – Within the framework of German FM Guido Westerwelle’s official visit to Armenia, a delegation of senior German officials on Friday met with the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (ASCPEC) Chairman, Artak Shaboyan. 

During the meeting the parties discussed the improvement of Armenia’s competitive field and its investment domain.        

Shaboyan presented to the German delegation members ASCPEC’s past activities and its priorities for 2012.

And getting acquainted with the activities of the Commission, German Federal Foreign Office Ambassador Stefan Auer stressed that the steps being take are extremely important in terms of a competitive environment in the country and in bringing foreign investment. Auer also noted that the German businessmen are interested in making new investments in Armenia, and that ASCPEC contributes to this by creating a reliable and a favorable environment for free competition.
