ISTANBUL. – Turkish policeman, who is in a photo with Hrank Dink’s murderer Ogun Samast, Yakup Kurtaran got promoted quickly.

The policeman, making hero of the Dink murderer, is appointed as a deputy head of Malatya city gendarmerie, Turkish Radikal reports.

The photo, picturing the policeman, Samast and the Turkish flag, appeared in media outlets. A lawsuit was filed against Yakup Kurtaran but he just paid a small fine.

Turkish Supervisory Board report also paid attention to the fact that the policemen in a photo with the murderer are still unpunished. 

Chief Editor of Agos newspaper Hrant Dink was killed near his office by Turkish nationalist  Ogun Samast in 2007.

Ogun Samast, was sentenced to a total of 22 years and 10 months for Dink’s murder and for bearing illegal arms. But Samast was tried at a juvenile court, since he was a minor at the time of the murder.
