YEREVAN. – A fellow soldier has been detained in connection with the death of Ara Arakelyan, a conscript in the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR).
Naira Harutyunyan, head of the Information and Public Relations Division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, told about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
She informed that a criminal case has been filed and an investigation is underway into compulsory conscript, Junior Sergeant Ara Arakelyan sustaining a fatal gunshot wound, and Junior Sergeant Andranik Koshkanyan sustaining a gunshot wound at an Artsakh Defense Army military unit Tuesday, at around 6:30pm.
Harutyunyan added that a fellow serviceman of these victims has been detained on suspicion of committing this crime.
As reported earlier, Ara Arakelyan (born in 1998) sustained a fatal gunshot wound Tuesday.
