US President Donald Trump urged Russia to withdraw its troops from Venezuela and warned that "all options" are open to make that happen.

"Russia has to get out," Trump told journalists in the Oval office where he met with Fabiana Rosales, the wife of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido, whom the US recognizes as the president of Venezuela.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia and Venezuela concluded an agreement on military-technical cooperation in 2001, according to which Russian specialists can be present in a South American country. She noted that additional approval by the National Assembly of for various actions under the agreement is “not required”.

Earlier it was reported about the arrival of up to 100 Russian soldiers to Venezuela.
