The Armenian community of Boston donated $ 150,000 to the City of Smiles Foundation to help treat young cancer patients in Armenia, The Boston Globe reported. 

According to the source, the wife of Armenian Prime Minister Anna Hakobyan, who is on a working visit to the US, was warmly received in the Armenian community of Boston.

“In wealthy and developed countries, cancer is just a disease, but in many less-developed countries, it is equal to a death sentence,” she told the more than 450 people in attendance.

The meeting was also attended by Armenian ambassador to US Varuzhan Nersesyan.
