Human Rights Defender of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Artak Beglaryan posted the following on his Facebook page:

“Today marked the launch of the process of exchanging the bodies of the deceased through the coordination of the peacekeeping mission of the Russian Federation and with the participation of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the State Service for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Artsakh. The Office of the Human Rights Defender has made its modest contribution to the initial collection and processing of data and to the ensuring of effective and rapid communication between the institutions involved in the process.

I am glad that there is already success, and a certain number of bodies have been dislocated from certain territories of Shushi. I hope all missing persons are found and they or at least their bodies are delivered to their relatives.

Once again, I express my support to the relatives of all the deceased and assure them that their relatives are also my relatives and I share their pain and pride.

We all need to be strong and continue the work that the martyrs left behind.”
