The very short-range Gibka-S mobile anti-aircraft missile systems will reach the Russian troops for the first time in 2022, RIA Novosti reported.

The report said that the platoon kits of the very short-range mobile anti-aircraft missile system Gibka-S will arrive in the troops for the first time next year.

As the agency specifies, the combat vehicles are equipped with reconnaissance equipment and an automated control system as part of the unified tactical control system, which will enable them to conduct 24-hour air defense combat duty and manage fire in real-time. The Gibka-S short-range complex is capable of countering aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles and precision-guided weapon systems flying at low and extremely low altitudes at any time of day and in limited visibility conditions.

The Ministry of Defence adds that the system is equipped with four launch-ready Igla, Igla-S or Verba missiles.
