The ECHR sent a request to Azerbaijan on Armenian captives.

According to the representative of Armenia on international legal issues, the ECHR issued a ruling on September 16 on the part of the 39th rule of the Court.

1.concerning the prohibition of targeting peaceful settlements, the ECtHR noted that the decision of September 29, 2020 is still in force and applies to these cases (the decision of 2020 declared the compliance of the parties to the Convention, including in regard to the prisoners). In its decision, the ECtHR noted that any deviation could lead to a change in this approach;

2.Regarding the video-recordings of the prisoners, the ECtHR sent a request to Azerbaijan regarding 1 prisoner identified as of September 13, and the remaining unidentified prisoners seen on video (on the location, conditions of detention, state of health), with a deadline of September 22.

"It should also be noted that we continue to work on the identification of Armenian prisoners of war with partner structures, the results of which we periodically supplement our statements sent to the European Court," the representative noted.
