Russia has carried out the most massive shelling of Ukraine's power system since the beginning of the war, UNIAN reported.

"Today again Russia is carrying out large-scale missile strikes on energy facilities. This is the most massive shelling of the power system since the beginning of the war," Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said on Facebook.

According to Galushchenko, this attack could have an impact not only on the power system of Ukraine, but also on the power systems of "some neighboring countries."

"The hits are occurring throughout the Ukrainian power system: both generation facilities and the power transmission system," the minister said, adding that emergency shutdowns have been introduced.

"I ask everyone to treat the critical situation with the power supply with understanding, to remain calm and trust the power engineers," he added.

According to Yuri Ignat, a representative of the Air Force Command of Ukriana, Russian troops fired "about 100 missiles" on Ukraine today.

"Yes, this is a massive missile strike. Yes, critical infrastructure facilities are the first target. But, as we can see, there are consequences of the missile attacks on residential buildings as well," he noted.
