Oil and gas company QatarEnergy has signed a 27-year contract with China for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the country in the amount of 4 million tons annually, the news agency RIA Novosti reported, citing the press service of the Qatari company.

"QatarEnergy has signed a contract with China's state-owned Sinopec for the supply of liquefied natural gas, under which the Chinese company will receive 4 million tons of LNG annually for 27 years," the company informed.

QatarEnergy's press service called this contract the longest in the history of the industry.

Doha is currently working to expand gas production and plans to produce 110 million tons of LNG each year by 2026 instead of the current 77 million tons.
