Russia will closely monitor the developments in Armenia regarding the situation over the possible closure of Russian TV channels in the country, Grigory Karasin, the head of the international affairs committee of the Federation Council, wrote in his Telegram channel.

“I am surprised by the strange statement of one of the Armenian parliamentarians. There was talk about the ‘possible closure’ of Russian TV channels in Armenia. To be honest, the tone is scandalous,” he wrote, commenting on the statement of Armenian MP Lusine Badalyan about the possible closure of Russian TV channels in the country.

"I don't know if this is an attempt to taming the anti-Russian waves and scoring political points or not. I am sure that such things will not find support in Armenia and will not undermine the foundations of centuries-old friendship between our peoples for the sake of a certain political situation.

Moreover, the situation is obviously fabricated. I would also like to remind you that at the Russian-Armenian media forum held in September, the broadcasting issues of both our and Armenian channels were discussed in detail. We will carefully monitor the development," Karasin wrote.
