Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev has once again ridiculed the French president and threatened Armenia—this time in an interview for the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency.

"Armenia should realize that no one will help it ‘on the ground’ in case of provocation against Azerbaijan—despite the support of the US and France," Aliyev said, RIA Novosti reports.

"They should not forget the results of the second Karabakh war [in 2020] and the antiterrorist operation [there] in September 2023," continued the Azerbaijani president

According to him, the maximum support of French President Emmanuel Macron and the US State Department does not give Armenia any guarantees.

"If they [i.e. Armenia] think of another provocation against us [i.e. Azerbaijan], here, on the ground, no one will help them. Well, how did Macron help them in 2020 or 2023? He assisted, grabbed by the hand, I don't know, or by somewhere else. That's all. What is he capable of? We know it very well," Aliyev said.

He said that Azerbaijan still "will call to stop arming Armenia."

"And if this continues, then so that there will be no demands from us later," added the president of Azerbaijan.
