YEREVAN. – Sociologist Aharon Adibekyan conducted a survey which showed that Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan is the opposition’s most probable single candidate for next year’s presidential elections. Adibekyan himself stated this during a press conference on Monday, and he informed that this opinion poll was conducted with 1,650 voters from the country’s regions.        

As per Adibekyan, 30.4 percent of the respondents consider Tsarukyan as the opposition’s preferred single presidential candidate, 10.1 percent see second President Robert Kocharyan as such, Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian received 8.7 percent, First President and Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan tallied 4 percent, and ARF Dashnaktsutyun’s Vahan Hovhannisyan and Armen Rustamyan have received 3.4 and 2.5 percent correspondingly.   

According to the sociologist, the least wanted presidential contender is Levon Ter-Petrosyan, who has no chance of becoming the opposition’s single candidate, and he will be defeated as a result of being nominated by ANC.
