YEREVAN. – Petition by the Prosecutor General on removing Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MP Vardan Oskanian’s parliamentary immunity is not a reason to oppose the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) against the PAP, RPA group head Galust Sahakyan said during the discussion in the National Assembly on Monday.

According to him, the two parties have passed a long way together. If Oskanian had presented all his explanations to law enforcement agents in time, there would have been no discussions.

 “On the one hand, Prosecutor General has submitted petition, on the other the Parliament has heard Oskanian’s explanations. Oskanian should be given time to prove his innocence, while corresponding bodies should be consistent in supporting the petition,” he added.
