YEREVAN. – Armenia’s national carrier Armavia Airline Company’s proprietor Mika Baghdasarov, who recently announced that he is selling the company, is not in an enviable position. His Mikacement Company, which was put up for sale since March, is not sold in any way, and the businesses, as such, are not going successfully, Zhoghovurd daily reports.    

“According to Zhoghovurd’s information, [President] Serzh Sargsyan this time told Baghdasarov that he will no longer receive his assistance because he [that is, Baghdasarov] has failed in all business sectors, even the gasoline import. 

In all likelihood, it was upon Sargsyan’s instruction that Mikacement had gotten around the electricity, [natural] gas, water and other service payments. And even though Armavia continues to intensively deny the news, if Serzh Sargsyan was Baghdasarov’s ‘backer’ in the past, now, this is not so. He does not even want to listen to Baghdasarov’s explanations,” Zhoghovurd writes.
