YEREVAN. – The opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc has more prerequisites of supporting Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan, political analyst Hmayak Hovhannisyan told reporters on Tuesday in response to the question about the joint opposition candidate for the next presidential elections.

According to him, both Kocharyan and Armenia’s first President, the ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, gave the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan different posts when in office and both regret about it. Another prerequisite is that the ANC has no longer those bright anti-Kocharyan personalities including David Shahnazaryan and Andranik Kocharyan.

“In addition, Russia needs Kocharyan, as a joint candidate,” Hovhannisyan concluded.
