YEREVAN. – The talks between President Serzh Sargsyan and Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan are coming to a close, Haykakan Zhamanak (HZ) daily reports.

“HZ has learned that the PAP Chairman has agreed to assume the office of Deputy PM, with wide powers. According to government sources, the PAP will also be given three ministries and three regions [to govern], Tsarukyan will not run [for next year’s presidential elections], and the PAP will support Serzh Sargsyan in the presidential elections.

According to the same sources, the document on this [arrangement] is expected to be signed in early December, at the latest. Gagik Tsarukyan will assume the Deputy PM’s office after the presidential elections.

At present, the PAP is denying this information. Our sources, however, claim that the [respective] agreement is virtually reached at this moment,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
