YEREVAN. – Russian Federation (RF) Armed Forces Ground Troops Commander, Colonel General Vladimir Chirkin paid a working visit to Armenia from Tuesday to Thursday.  

The objective of this trip was to inspect the combat readiness of the units from the 102nd RF Military Base stationed in Armenia and to provide assistance to the base’s command in preparing for the new education year.  

Along the liens of his visit to Armenia, Colonel General Chirkin also met with Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, and Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov, the Chief of Staff of Armenia’s Armed Forces. They discussed the activities by the aforesaid military base as well as the Armenian-Russian military and militaro-technical cooperation, Armenian MOD informs.
